Finding ourselves dragged into games we haven’t decided to play is inevitable in life. But, more often than not, unexpected circumstances and close relations make us take part in scenarios and matches that we have no control over; the so called collateral damage. So ultimately we are forced to live and decide constrained by the rules of a game that limits our freedom. “Jaque mate al Rey” presents, through the metaphor of a game of chess, a symbolic reality that talks about relations and rolls inside a family and how a death can start an intense conflict where relations of power, ambition and greed, converge between all the members of the group.
