(my) FAMILY CIRCUS//
(my) Family Circus rises from the idea of reinventing my family tree while distancing myself from certain kinship ties.
Although we are tied by bloodline to ancestors as well as successors, and family is thus assigned to us, it does not necessarily imply direct descendance, or that the kinship that we call “family” corresponds to our image and expectations of it.
Therefore my starting point is the thought that the existence of kinship ties doesn’t necessarily have to be a genealogical one, and I hereby show my own family proposal.
(my) Family Circus is thus a mise en scène of one of the pillars of the human being, the family. An attempt to define myself as an individual through other individuals that form my most direct environment.
